The Trans Tasman Challenge???????
History; Ian Hilder Tony Astell and Ray Pratt were all involved in the first challenge in 1993, The Kiwi got thrashed. 2005 Steve and Margie bought out the Out Back 7 to our shores They raced and we got thrashed Again. 2006 We went to Aus. at the winters which had nothing to do with the
TTC Ray P was No1 Qual in Screaming Eagles,Ian H got to the 1/4 finals in Mod Bike 65 bikes I qualified No3 and came runner up in Top Bike, From there we returned to NZ and the bikes 2 months latter went up to "MacKay" Steve,, Margie Mike, Murry, Clive and Geoff I think Baldie made it to all made the big trek down with there bikes. Mine coughed in the burnout so I
was parked up, the rest ran a lot of passes as this was an all bike meeting, After the racing liquid was consumed to EXCESSIVE QUANTITIES to the detriment of a LLLLOOOOOOOOTTTTTTT of brain cells, we then flew to DARWIN where we were BILLETED out what a BALL come race day the Aussies had well and truly STACKED THE DECK WIN AT ALL COST ;;3 fuel bikes from
Perth ,2 from Brisbane Bret Stevens and Troy McClean, and the 1 local THE IMFAMAS "THE NOS BOSS" and myself, I think I was first out a 6.9 on the primary's and all the others were into there clutches Darwin had Bite! We were no1 qual. and in the final were up against Brett
Stevens only to be shut down on the line with a fuel leak a f..... O ring.
We lost the challenge by 3points Bugger. we whet to Sydney then Willowbank again and Trever F come runner up Beaten by a GIRL. Those that went all had a blast,                                            THE AUSSIES ARE COMING
WHEN: LATE DECEMBER 2007
WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO FOR THEM????????

In 1993 we did not get thrashed we only lost by one point. We supplied a winner shield and a token trophy for all involved it was one of the highlights of my Dragbike racing career.

If I remember rightly Ray Pratt was riding his and my Alcohol Harley and we thrashed John Parker in that final. Ray won his class it was those other buggers let us down. I remember it because un-be-known to anyone else the bike had torn the rear brake anchor off so Ray race the final with only the front brake. It was a bloody good event are everyone had a great time.

I do remember that  John Parkers Clip-on Handlebar Broke & Its hard to steer one handed. One of the other buggers!

Fair point, lets get a meeting together and do something now! We need to show them the same hospitality they showed the team that went over there or this will be an embarrassment to us all.

I don't know if the Aussies are intending to race here in the top of the south, but if so I can supply accommodation for them. Do we know what meetings the T.T challenge will be run at?

Comments: Hi Guys,
Thanks for the offers of accomodation, much appreciated. Has next year's NZDRA calendar been finalised ? I have been checking various websites but can't find anything. I have heard that the Century Nationals will be at Masterton next February. As soon as I can get meeting dates I will try and confirm some dates and numbers of bikes and people coming. Tristan, it is unfortunately not going to include the South Island. I would love to but time and money constraints will probably limit us to the North only. Maybe next time could be a South Island only.
Cheers and Beers,

So is the plan that all their bikes and gear will stay in the shipping container which will be moved from track to track?

Comments: G'Day Dean,
Yes that is the idea, however last time we had to unload at Athol's place after the trip across to repair damage caused in transit, then after the first meeting three of us had to pull engines out for major repairs which were also done at Athol's, and a thorough clean up of everything to keep customs happy for the trip back home. Gee I hope every thing can stay in the container from track to track this time.
Any word on the calendar yet ?
